Community Meetings Scheduled for Cesar Chavez Middle School Naming Process

Lynwood Unified School District invites students, families, staff, alumni and Lynwood residents to take part in the process of potentially renaming Cesar Chavez Middle School by attending community meetings in person. Community members who are unable to attend a workshop are encouraged to share their input through the District’s online survey.

The District will host four in-person meetings in May, providing an opportunity for participants to share their ideas, perspectives and input on potential school names. Each workshop will cover the same information, and attendees are encouraged to participate in the session that best fits their schedule.

All workshops will take place at Cesar Chavez Middle School’s gym. Spanish interpretation services will be available.

Meeting Schedule:

  • Thursday, May 7 | 10 - 11:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, May 12 | 5 - 6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 19 | 10 - 11:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, May 27 | 5 - 6:30 p.m.
